Friday Zachary Fire Station #81
Capital Area Law Enforcement Foundation is a nonprofit foundation, whose objective is to assist area law enforcement in purchasing safety equipment, to better protect them while doing their jobs. CALEF was founded by former BRPD Police Chief Pat Englade, and raises money through fundraisers to provide safety equipment to first responders and law enforcement personnel. According to the Englade, Zachary is the first city to receive vests for both fire and law enforcement personnel.
“Safety for our firefighters is top priority, this is just another layer of protection that our firefighters can have to perform their job,” says Zachary Fire Chief Danny Kimble. Police Chief David McDavid says, “The new vests are a game changer for our men and women. Our ultimate goal is for these men and women to return home safely to their families at the end of their shift.” Both agencies would like to thank CALEF for the life-saving donations and their hard work raising funds for such a good cause.
