Louisiana Healthcare Institute launches the first-of-its kind federally registered apprenticeship program in medical history.

Training in Medical Coding, Billing and Compliance in Louisiana meets the President’s decision to enact job-creation-boosting apprenticeships throughout the country.

September 17, 2017, Baton Rouge, LOUISIANA – A new initiative by the Louisiana

Healthcare Institute is meeting the President’s executive order on expanding apprenticeships and boosting the creation of jobs in America, and creating new opportunities in the medical industry.

“This will be the first of its kind in the State of Louisiana, and possibly the United States,” stated Sherie Thomas, President of Louisiana Healthcare Institute. “We will be offering the first federally registered apprenticeship program on Medical Coding, Billing and Compliance. Professional expertise is in high-demand in the medical and health industry, but trained, certified and skilled professionals are absent from the market. We are happy to meet the spirit and goals of the federal government’s new policy to boost apprenticeships to offer new training and job avenues that our economy needs,” Thomas added.

The apprenticeship launch will be held on October 15, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. and is being sponsored and promoted by Louisiana Workforce Commission, Apprenticeship Division. The ‘Fruits’ of our Labor – The Benefits of an Apprenticeship Program will take place at the Louisiana Healthcare Institute.
